Obituary

Annie "Louise" (nee Keesee) Barlow of Maryland Masonic Home, formerly of North Point, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the age of 103.  Beloved wife of the late James C. Barlow, Sr.; devoted mother of Betty Jane Sindlinger and her husband Bud, James C. Barlow, Jr. and his wife Claire; Daniel A. Barlow and his wife Cynthia; sister of the late Cora Lee Brooks, the late Lena Frances Goodman and the late Walter Avery Keesee, Jr.; dear grandmother of 7, great grandmother of 16, great great grandmother of 10 and great great great grandmother of 4.

In 1950 Louise brought her husband to Baltimore for advanced orthopedic surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital for a hip injury from an automobile accident in her hometown of Bristol, TN. In 1953 Daniel was born and she started work at Haussner's Restaurant in Highlandtown as a waitress on the busy dinner shift and would be there for the next 43 years until she retired to care for her husband. She loved working there. Haussner's was unique with its famous artwork, delicious food and excellent service. Louise would wait on couples and parties there for special occasions, businessmen with clients, and celebrities as well. Louise never knew who she was going to meet that day. She took pride in wearing pressed white uniforms, stockings and white shoes. As a waitress her whole life she walked many miles and met many interesting people.

She was a wonderful homemaker even while juggling work, raising kids and church. She was active in the Dundalk Baptist Church holding Bible study classes for children and adults, visiting the sick and making time for work and church friends.  Family was very important to her. She loved visits from relatives and special occasion dinners. Christmas was the best, favorite food, cakes and cookies galore and her special homemade apple butter to give away. Being the oldest sibling and last of her sisters and brothers to pass, she welcomed and kept in touch with her adoring nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Monday, March 24 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 25 beginning at 12 PM.  Interment to follow at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
