On September 27, 2025; Aline Alves Marques Leerkes, 61 of Timonium, passed away at her home. Aline is the cherished mother of Lucas Leerkes and his brothers (by her former husband Maarten Leerkes) Sebastian Greene Leerkes and Andries Leerkes, beloved sister of Adma, Xanda, Branca, Alda and Ailton, loving cousin of Eliseu and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Particularly with her nephew Helder, Aline shared an exceptionally strong and unbreakable bond. Additionally, she held a special place in the hearts of her friends in Baltimore and the Washington DC area, and she will be fondly remembered by them.

Aline's love of life was contagious, and it inspired everyone, fortunate enough to know her. She was the life of the party. Always vibrant, lively, and full of joy. Wherever she went, she brought people together, lifting hearts with her humor, warmth, and unstoppable energy.

Born in Brazil, she lived for some time in Italy and the Netherlands, eventually settling in the United States. No matter where she went, she embraced each place with open arms, a curious heart, and a zest for discovery that made every journey unforgettable.

She also cherished the outdoors. The warmth of the sun, the beauty of open landscapes, rivers and the simple joys of being in nature which she shared often with those closest to her. And just like the sunflowers she adored, she always turned toward the light, radiating strength, positivity, and beauty.

Ultimately, her greatest joy was her only son, Lucas, whom she devoted her life to. The love, pride, dedication, and passion for Lucas' life filled his heart with warmth, shaping him into the wonderful human being he has become today.

Though our hearts ache at her absence, we carry her spirit with us. In every laugh shared, in every adventure we take, in every sunflower we see reaching for the sun — we will remember her. She was, and will always be, a bright and unshakable light in our lives.

A Visitation will be held at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Center, 2325 York Road, Timonium, MD on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 2 PM to 4 PM with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 4 PM. If you plan to attend the family requests that you wear bright colors in celebration of Aline's bright personality.

Em 27 de setembro de 2025, Aline Alves Marques Leerkes, de 61 anos, faleceu em sua residência em Timonium. Aline era a amada mãe de Lucas Leerkes e de seus irmãos (do ex-marido Maarten Leerkes), Sebastian Greene Leerkes e Andries Leerkes, além de ser a querida irmã de Adma, Xanda, Branca, Alda e Ailton, e uma prima amorosa de Eliseu, além de tia de muitos sobrinhos e sobrinhas. Especialmente com seu sobrinho Helder, Aline tinha um vínculo muito forte e inquebrável. Alem domais, Aline ocupava um lugar muito especial no coração de seus amigos em Baltimore e na região de Washington DC.

O amor de Aline pela vida era contagiante e inspirava todos que tinham a sorte de conhecê-la. Ela era a alma de qualquer festa, sempre vibrante, animada e cheia de alegria. Por onde passava, reunia pessoas, elevando os corações com seu humor, calor humano e energia inesgotável.

Nascida no Brasil, viveu por algum tempo na Itália e nos Países Baixos, antes de se estabelecer nos Estados Unidos. Em cada lugar, abraçava a nova experiência de braços abertos, com um coração curioso e um entusiasmo por descobrir que tornava cada jornada inesquecível.

Aline também adorava a natureza. O calor do sol, a beleza das paisagens abertas, dos rios e as simples alegrias de estar ao ar livre, que ela frequentemente compartilhava com aqueles mais próximos. Assim como os girassóis que tanto amava, ela sempre se voltava para a luz, irradiando força, positividade e beleza.

Seu maior orgulho e alegria, no entanto, era seu único filho, Lucas, a quem dedicou toda a sua vida. O amor, o orgulho, a dedicação e a paixão pela vida de Lucas encheram seu coração de calor, transformando-o no ser humano maravilhoso em que ele se tornou hoje.

Embora nossos corações estejam doloridos com sua ausência, carregamos seu espírito conosco. Em cada riso compartilhado, em cada aventura que empreendemos, em cada girassol que vemos buscando o sol — nós a lembraremos. Ela foi, e sempre será, uma luz brilhante e inabalável em nossas vidas.

Uma visita será realizada no Peaceful Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Center, 2325 York Road, Timonium, MD, no domingo, 5 de outubro de 2025, das 14h às 16h, seguida por uma Celebração da Vida às 16h. A família solicita que, se possível, os presentes usem cores vivas em celebração à personalidade radiante de Aline.
