Ann L. Schofield (nee Phillips), originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024, at her home in Cockeysville, Maryland. Born to Troy G. Phillips, Sr. and Frances D. Phillips, Ann was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Kenneth E. Phillips. She is survived by her brother, T.G. Phillips.
Ann was a beloved mother to Deborah L. Schofield, John J. Schofield, and Patrick T. Schofield. She was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Kelly Ann Rogers, and her son, Robert D. Schofield, Jr. Her legacy continues through her cherished ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. Ann is also survived by her beloved Jack Russell, Lucy.
Ann dedicated over 25 years of her professional life as an Administrative Assistant for the Baltimore City Department of Public Works, retiring in 2008. She was renowned for her exceptional Southern and cosmopolitan cooking, especially her superb homemade cakes, which were adored by family and friends. Her creative spirit shone through her crafting hobbies, particularly the handmade Christmas ornaments she lovingly created for her family and close friends.
A passionate animal lover, Ann adopted several shelter dogs throughout her life and had a special fascination with pit bulls, hoping to adopt one someday. She was a generous supporter of BARCS Animal Shelter and Adoptions in Maryland, reflecting her deep love and commitment to animal welfare.
A Funeral Mass to honor Ann Schofield's life will be held on June 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Bolton Hill, located at 110 W Lafayette Ave, Baltimore, MD 21217. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ann's name to BARCS Animal Shelter and Adoptions, located at 2490 Giles Road, Baltimore, MD 21225.
Ann L. Schofield will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the profound love she shared with her family and friends.
A Wake Celebration will be held directly after the Mass Service at: Jimmy's Famous Seafood, 6526 Holabird Ave., Baltimore, MD 21224 from 12-3pm.
