Obituary

Anne Sessions Loane of Phoenix, MD died on August 28, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 30, 1958, in Honolulu, HI to Judith and Jabez Loane, the family lived in Germany from 1965-1968 before relocating back to Cockeysville, MD. Anne graduated from Dulaney High School in 1976 and attended St Mary's College of Maryland.

Anne was an insurance underwriter and retired from PMA insurance in 2024. She was a devoted mother and mentor to her four children. Her hobbies included traveling, gardening, crafting and reading. She was an avid sports fan who supported the Ravens, Orioles and Maryland Terps. Anne was also a natural conversationalist with a sharp mind and a deep well of knowledge, especially concerning history. She is survived by her husband, David Aune, her partner of 27 years; her children Bill Stengel and his wife Patty, Matthew Stengel and his wife Sandra, Brian Stengel and his partner Sandy Faulhefer, Katherine Stengel and her husband Bo Condon; her grandchildren Julia, Sophie, Henry and Olivia Stengel and Hailey Condon; her sister Beverly Davis and her husband Brian; and her niece Shannon Wyman and her husband Justin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jabez Loane. 

Visitation hours will be held at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Center, Timonium, MD on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM.A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Anne’s name to Defenders of Animal Rights, Inc.
