Obituary

Annette (Nettie), 81 years old of Baltimore, MD passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 22, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Bob Langis (deceased) for 59 years, loving mother to Kim Costolo (Larry), Valarie Yearwood (Chris), and Lauren Moseley (Steve), and the proud Mom Mom of Bobby (Amanda) and Emily (fiancé Matt) Costolo, Jack and Grace Yearwood, Alex and Addison Moseley, and proud GiGi to Brady Costolo. She was also a beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was born to Charles and Anna (Griesser) Bieckert and was the youngest sister to Adele Russell and Charles Bieckert.

Annette was a warm, kind, humble and caring person who became endeared to all she met. She stole Bob's heart and got married in Nov of 1961 and started her family 10 months later. Through all the up and downs of marriage, Bob and Annette remained happily married for almost 60 years. She always put her family first and was a great role model, raising her girls to be strong independent women. She was the glue that held all her family near and dear.

She had many lifelong friends starting from the time she attended Notre Dame and onto the neighborhoods she and Bob lived. From Baltimore to Parkville to Manchester and lastly Glen Arm, Maryland. In each of these places she naturally became active in her neighborhood and community, organizing activities, volunteering at the voting polls, and helping at her children's schools. She eagerly jumped in whenever and wherever she was needed and in doing so, made a lot of friends along the way. She embraced all those around her, her friends became like family. She loved getting everyone together for birthdays or a crab feast…and speaking of crab feasts, Nettie could never get enough of those delicious, steamed crabs, like a true Baltimorean! Her friendships were forever, and she knew how to love and be loved.

She was the best aunt too, never one to miss a happy birthday, wedding, or birth. She was a beacon of light wherever she was, and people naturally gravitated towards her. She was quick with a story or laugh, although she could be a little longwinded at times! However, she was all about having fun, never hesitating to be a little wild or crazy!

Annette also loved all the holidays and decorating was her jam. Not only did she decorate her house to the nines, she enjoyed decorating herself as well! Her favorite was Christmas. She created the most magical ones for her children and once her beloved grandchildren started arriving, that was all she wrote! She put walking in a winter wonderland to shame!

Annette lived her life well and to the fullest. Always present in the moment and never one to dwell on the past. To her family and all those who knew her; she was the most amazing woman, one who will be missed very much.

Funeral service will be held for Annette and her late husband Bob on November 5, 2021, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 13305 Long Green Pike, Hydes, MD 21082 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
