Obituary

Anthony Raymond Mezatasta Sr, 81, passed away on May 19, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland due to complications of cancer. Tony was born on June 6, 1943, in Amherst, Ohio. He was the son of the late Frank and Dorothy Mezatasta. Also preceding him in death were his brothers Frank, James, Jack, and his sister Mary Lou.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirlee Rose, with whom he began a thriving and close-knit family. Also surviving him are his three children, Tammy (Bob), Anthony (Joey), and Debi (Glenn), as well his four grandchildren, Michael (Maddy), Taylor (Chris), Nicolas, and Luca, and his four great granddaughters, Tallulah, Violet, Stevie, and Maxine.

Tony was an avid golfer, belonging to the Hunt Valley Country Club where he was known as "Tournament Tony". In earlier years, Tony belonged to the Towson Jaycees and the Rovers club. During his teens, Tony was a member of The Bachelors, who hung out at the local soda pop shop in Lorain, Ohio where he grew up.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. There was nothing Tony loved more or was prouder of than his family. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 19th at 11 a.m. at Hunt Valley Country Club, 14101 Phoenix Road, Phoenix, MD 21131 with Luncheon to follow. Please remember Tony by signing his guestbook.
