Arinthia (Cookie) May Wines
December 10, 1942 – February 8, 2025
On February 8, 2025, Arinthia (Cookie) May Wines joined her husband, the late Kenneth E. Wines. Cookie loved her family so much. She was the devoted mother of Walter David Bullock, Jr., Wendy Bullock Hawkins (her husband, John A. Hawkins, III) and Sandra Kay Miller (her husband, Mitchell Miller). She was the loving grandmother of 7 grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Walter David Bullock, III, Giorganna Gardner, Kristina Renee Niederberger, Douglas Roy Niederberger, Kenneth Miller, Christopher Miller and Alissia Miller. She was also the loving great-grandmother to 7 great-grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren are Konner Bullock, Aiden Gardner, Aaron Gardner, Ronan Miller, Mason Miller, Oliver Miller and Kimball Johnson.
Cookie was one of 11 children. Her siblings are the late Robert (Bob) Cox, Rodger (Erf) Cox, the late Doris (Chick) Goldsmith, Joan Japko, Matthew (Toby) Calender, the late Ray Calender, Verda (Sue) Walters, the late Ella May (Patsy) Calender, Lloyd (Doc) Calender, and the late Joseph (Joe) Calender. Cookie is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Cookie worked for Brody Brothers, as a warehouse manager and then as a sales representative. She had a great relationship with all her clients. When the company closed its doors, she could have enjoyed a well-earned time off. Cookie was always willing to help anyone (especially her children). At that time, Wendy (her daughter) was recovering from surgery, so Cookie decided that she was going to help Wendy do her work as a title abstractor. From that time until she was forced to retire (due to health) in 2022, Cookie worked in many different court houses at her own business that she built. She helped so many people.
Cookie was a strong, kind, and loving friend to all. She made friends everywhere she went. She will be missed so much by her family and by all the friends that she made feel like family.
