Barbara Elizabeth Rohde Fagan, June 25, 2021 at the age of 99.

Barbara was born to William "Skipper" and Harriet Cornelius Rohde on March 20, 1922, in New York, New York.  She grew up, moving all around the NY metro area and went on to graduate from New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center School of Nursing and served as a First Lieutenant in the Army during World War II.

Upon returning from England after the war, she married William F. Fagan on July 4 ^th , 1946, in Brooklyn, New York.   They were married for 39 years and lived a beautiful life raising 3 daughters, Linda, Nora (Hank) and Bridget, who survive her.

Barbara lived life to the fullest, perfecting her skills of sewing, knitting smocking, needlepoint, gardening and building miniature dollhouses.  Barbara was still driving solo to Florida until her 80's to visit family. In her later years she was happiest spending time with the rambunctious and slightly deranged Boston Terrier, Scooter or listening to the sound of her great grandchildren laughing.

Her life will be cherished by all who knew her or have been lucky enough to have a piece of her handiwork that she so generously gave away.  She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren; Brooke, Scott (Jeny), and Logan (Jenny); and great grandchildren Thompson, Ella, Lachlan and Abigail. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Skip (Janis), Todd, Robin (Terry) and Lisa (Russ).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William, her brother William (Carol), sister Vivian (John) and son-in-law Tom.

Interment will be Amityville, New York at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, we encourage friends, family and those who loved her to spend time crafting – creating something beautiful that will make someone else smile.  Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's name to Smile Train , Chesapeake Bay Foundation or Amityville Historical Society .
