Bessie Sisson Zavadil (nee Blackiston), of Towson, Maryland passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023. She was 93 years old. Bessie was the beloved wife of the late Louis F. Sisson, Jr. and George Zavadil; devoted mother of Nanci Barker and the late Louis F. Sisson, III; proud grandmother of David Barker and his wife Susan, Michael Sisson, Thomas Sisson, and Robert Sisson and his wife Kerri; loving great grandmother of 6. She is also survived by her dear daughter in law, Carol Sisson.

Bessie was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and the other wildlife enjoy the fruits of her labor. She was also a collector of antique dolls and Hummel keepsakes. An extensive traveler with her husband, they traveled to many different lands including Madagascar, South Africa, Italy, France, Dubai and Czechoslovakia. She will be missed.

A Graveside Service will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7231 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, Maryland 21061 on Friday, November 3 beginning at 1:30 PM. In lieu flowers, please remember Bessie with memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.
