Elizabeth “Betsy” Lord (née Mann) Urban of Timonium, Maryland peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. She was 100 years old. Born on May 31, 1926, Betsy lived a life marked by joy, humor, and unwavering devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Seymour W. Urban; her brothers, Kellogg Mann, Jr. and George Edward Mann; and her sister, Deborah McIntyre.

Betsy is survived by her children, Seymour “Sandy” W. Urban, Jr., Stephen “Penn” P. Urban and his fiancé Diane Heusinkveld, and Timothy M. Urban and his wife Cathy. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Heather Urban, Shannon Pappert and her husband Frank, Sebrina Urban, and Kristin Lord Seipp and her husband Andrew; and her adored great grandchildren, Hannah Smith, Culver Seipp, and Sullivan Seipp. She leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews.

A dedicated teacher and longtime contributor at The News Center, Betsy touched countless lives with her infectious laughter and warm sense of humor. Her steadfast commitment to family was the cornerstone of her life, and she will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Sunday, July 5 from 1-4 PM. The Committal Service and Inurnment will be held privately by the family at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, New York at a later date.
