Betty Louise Sanders, age 91, of Cockeysville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2025 in her home. She was surrounded by family who gave their goodbyes in a private ceremony.

Born on January 27th, 1934 in Baltimore, Betty was a retired nurse, known for her scholastic achievements, nursing career, boundless compassion, mischievous wit and unfailing dedication to her family.

She is survived by her adoring spouse, Wayne C. Sanders; loving children, Carol L. Stover and her husband George, David W. Sanders and his wife Jane and Mark S. Sanders; devoted sisters, Marlene Culotta, Carolynn Mattern and Darlene Oliver; and cherished grandchild, Evan Zulovich. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother John Seward, Jr.

Betty was a graduate with distinction from Essex Community College, St. Joseph School of Nursing and Towson University with a bachelor's degree in nursing.

She was a registered nurse at Wyman Park Hospital, City Hospital, Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Maryland General Hospital, Medstar Good Samaritan Hospital and several other hospitals.

She loved holidays, dining out, entertaining, birdwatching, crossword puzzles and abstract art. She also took joy in feeding feeding wild deer, birds and squirrels in her backyard, and was an avid reader with an extensive library.

According to her wishes, Betty has been cremated.

The family will receive friends at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Thursday, June 19th, from 7-8 PM with a memorial service, featuring a ceremony by the Nurses Honor Guard, to begin at 8 PM.
