Obituary

Bradley Roy Luse, of Berlin, Maryland and formerly of York, Pennsylvania unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. He was 69 years old. He was the beloved husband of Pamela (nee Snyder) Luse; the devoted father of Jason Lesher and his wife Jennifer, Gregory Lauer and Steven Lauer; and the proud grandfather of Jason, Jr., Julianna and Josephine Lesher.

Brad was a rail transit engineer for many years. He worked on rail and metro-related projects around Baltimore, Washington D.C., and throughout the country and was highly respected. A colleague described him as "a gentle soul," yet he was extremely committed and passionate to "keep the trains safe." He was proud of the contributions he made to rail transit safety. He continued his work part time, after retiring from Jacobs Engineering in 2019.

Brad was a devoted husband to his first love, Pamela. They found each other after forty-five years apart and made up for lost time. They had a love that was unparalleled. They greatly enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Brad felt his purpose in his life was to make the lives of those he loved better. This is his legacy. He did this through his presence, his wisdom, his humor, and in many other ways. There was never a question that Brad would be there if someone needed him. He loved without reservation and was deeply loved by his family and friends.

Brad was an avid golfer and had amassed over 200 golf balls from the various courses he played around the country and other places he traveled. He especially enjoyed playing golf with his son, Jason, who would even offer tips for Brad to improve his game! A requirement before planning any trip was proximity to a golf course. In retirement, he played with a group of golf buddies who quickly became his friends. He also enjoyed taking family and friends out on his boat, a lifelong dream realized.

Family was the most important thing to Brad. He was a very devoted father, often coaching Jason's sports teams while working and going to college full-time. He was an enthusiastic supporter of his granddaughter and grandson's basketball, sometimes driving several hours to attend their games. Most recently, he attended Josephine's first soccer game. He attended choral and orchestral concerts his sons were involved in. He was a proud dad and Papaw. He enjoyed singing the blues with Jason and his grandkids. Jason would often provide guitar music for back up during these times. He had a very close bond with his daughter-in-law, Jennifer. Brad and Jennifer spent many hours sitting at the kitchen table sipping wine, listening to classic rock, and solving world problems. He calmly imparted his wisdom to all his children and grandchildren, greatly enriching their lives.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. He lived a full, joy-filled life. His family asks that you recall a favorite Brad story. There will be opportunity to share these stories at the celebration for those who choose to.

Brad would want you to remember him with joy and would want his legacy to live on. Be kind, help others, experience the world's offerings, and deeply treasure those you love. Live life fully and in the present, as the future is not guaranteed. In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make memorial contributions in Brad's name to the American Heart Association .
