Obituary

On Wednesday, September 9, 2020, Bradley Meredith Stewart unexpectedly passed away. He was 45 years old. Bradley was the beloved son of Ginni Cook and her husband Larry and Larry Stewart and his wife Daisy; loving father of Maddy Stewart and Gavin Stewart of Westminster, MD; brother of Kelly Bandaru and Tim Stewart. Also survived by his step-siblings, nieces and nephews.

Brad was always a loving child.  He would voluntarily clear snow off neighboring widows' sidewalks before they would arise in the morning, to surprise them.  At a young age he started his own wood working business, selling signs for homes and gardens at a local garden center.  He was creative; wanting always to invent things.  At an early age his father taught him to fish as well as garden; both of which continued into adulthood.  He taught his own children to fish and garden as well.  Cooking was also a passion.  I taught him his cooking skills as he watched and participated while I was preparing meals.  This also continued with his own family and he would often make meals to share with others.  The outdoors was his favorite place to be, enjoying the beach and waves, Loch Raven Reservoir, and travel; visiting Ireland and Australia as well as the Caribbean where he earned his scuba diving certificate.

As a teenager he was a star soccer player, being nicknamed "Flash" for his speed and endurance.  He attained his Geo Science, Bachelor of Science Degree from Towson University.  While married he had two children, Maddy and Gavin, who he adored.  His addictions to drugs and alcohol became a deterrent to living a successful and joyful life in more recent years.  Although separated from his children he talked about them and how much he missed them.  His addition and addictive behavior made it difficult for him to share that love with them.  As a result, he was able to get partial disability.  This allowed his children to receive financial benefits which he was not able to provide in more recent times.  Little did he know, that legacy would continue after his death.

Right before his death he seemed to be turning a corner, recognizing his faith in God and respecting boundaries set for him.  Discussions were once again cheerful and loving and animated.  I do not know what happened, but God does, and now he rests in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father.
