Bruno "Ronnie" Vidal

Ronnie Soriano was born on the 6th of October 1939 in Marbel, Koronadal, Cotabato, Philippines and was the youngest of six children.
He studied Agricultural Engineering in college and was the first in his family to immigrate to the United States through the enlistment of the United States Coast Guard (USCG). He served during the Cuban Crisis and the Vietnam War and earned the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. While enlisted Ronnie earned a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology and received the following commendations: Coast Guard Conduct Award with 3 Bronze Stars, Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Coast Guard Arctic Service Medal, Coast Guard Commendation Medal and Coast Guard Sea Service Ribbon.
While in military service, Ronnie met Priscilla Napa and they were wedded in 1966. They had four children in the next five years. Over the next 59 years, they were blessed with fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
Ronnie retired from the USCG after twenty years and then became employed by the Social Security Administration where he worked for an additional twenty years.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling and international travel with Prescy and their many friends. They were kept busy through the years attending many of their grandchildren’s activities and special events.
He is survived by his four children: Jeff Soriano (wife – Gayle), Melo Jean Vaeth (husband – Jack), Jerry Soriano (wife – Grace) and Jovie Soriano as well as fourteen grandchildren (Jake, Jenna, Grant, Grace, Graham, Jaden, Julia, Jonas, Jaxon, Jared, Jordan, Joseph, JR and Jett); three great grandchildren (Paisley, Owen and Adley) and one great grandson on the way.
The family will receive friends at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Friday, May 29 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM where a Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 31 beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
