Obituary

Chang Ho Park of Baltimore, Maryland passed away on July 12th, 2026 at 68 after a long battle with cancer. He left us on a Sunday, his most cherished day of the week, the day earmarked for fishing. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend to anyone lucky enough to know him.

Although he already walked through life happier than most, his Sundays on the water brought him an extra boost of joy. Even in his final days, he was setting up the boat and all his gear in anticipation of crabbing and fishing the very Sunday he passed.

He was born July 28th, 1957 in Daegu, South Korea and eventually made his way to the United States to build a life for himself. He went from growing up with USAID to becoming the captain of his own ship, literally and figuratively, and steered his way into a life that was bursting at the seams with love and connection.

He graduated from Loyola University with a degree in accounting, but quickly realized it wasn’t the profession for him. He was a people person through and through and would have been entirely out of place at a desk job. He worked many years at Magic Mens Wear in Baltimore where he was affectionately known as Mr. Ho. He loved going into work where his customers became family and he was able to see a direct impact with the work he was doing.

He is survived by his loving wife and partner, Young Park, his daughter and son-in-law, Nellie Park and Joey Weissman, his sister, Soon Ae Park, his brother, Chang Suk Park, and many more who loved him. He is predeceased by his son, Jason Park and his brothers, Chang Min Park and Chang Ki Park.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to remember Chang Ho Park with memorial contributions to No Stomach For Cancer. https://nostomachforcancer.org/donate/

Chang Ho Park lived with an amazing attitude, zero complaints, and gratitude for everything he had despite the many, many trials life handed him. We will remember him fondly and hope he has eternally “Gone Fishing”.

Family will receive friends at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Center, 2325 York Road, Timonium, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from 6-9 PM. A Funeral Service will take place during that time.
