Charmie M. Coleman, a Baltimore resident for many years and former resident of Cambridge, Maryland died on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 of natural causes at her home in Timonium at the age of 93.
She was born in Danville, Virginia and moved with her family to Baltimore in her early teens. In 1998 she built her home on Jenkins Creek where she and her husband resided until moving back to the Baltimore area in 1999. Before moving back, she lived in Boca Raton, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia and Cambridge, Maryland. Educated in city schools, she worked for some years for a prominent law firm. Before retiring in 1980, she was the Vice President of Rita St. Clair Associates, Inc. Interior Designers of Baltimore.
During her years in Cambridge, she volunteered with the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary as Chairman of the Robin Hood Shop, Chairman of the Hospitality Shop, President of the Board of Directors of the Auxiliary and as its representative to the Maryland Association of Hospital Auxiliaries.
She is survived by her daughters, Bonita W. Hale of Timonium and Charmie D. Flora of Towson; stepdaughter, Lauren C. Swanson of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; and stepson, Thomas R. Coleman of Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Charmie is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey R. Coleman and her brother, Dan L. Beggarly.
Services and interment will be private.
