It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Christian Jones of Lutherville, Maryland. He died on Thursday, December 12, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.

Chris was born on December 15, 1977, and lived most of his youth in Winter Haven, Florida.  He attended Harvey Mudd College in California for his undergraduate work, and then enrolled in the University of Florida for an advanced Mathematics degree. While at UF he met Lindsey, the love of his life.  He graduated with an MS in Math in 2003.  At that time he decided he wanted to enroll in medical school, and was accepted at Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.  The move to Los Angeles was one of many before they settled in Lutherville for his role as a trauma surgeon and faculty member at Johns Hopkins Medical Institute.  After several years he moved to MedStar Health to serve as a chief of surgery. He served as a surgeon for 17 years.

Lindsey was a loving and devoted partner during these many moves.  While they were in Columbus, Ohio, she gave birth to Molly, who is now 11 years old.  After moving to Maryland, Penny joined the family.  She is 8 years old. Due to Chris' illness, he needed to stop working and took over the role of caring for the girls' day to day activities while Lindsey worked.  His exceptional organizational skills came in handy, and the girls and Lindsey were all very happy to have him at home.

Chris leaves his loving family, members of his extended family, and many dear friends and colleagues.  He will be sorely missed.
