Christina Juliana Shepherd Bower, 79, of Towson, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, 28th of August 2024, at her family home of a stroke.
She was born 18th January 1945 in Slough, England to Teresa (née Molnar) and Harold Shepherd. She grew up in Slough and later the village of Datchet, close to Windsor Castle and Eton College, where she graduated from the LV School. Later she graduated from Regent Street Polytechnic, now known as the University of Westminster.
Her first career was as a Foreign Service Officer with the Foreign Office of the UK, working in Downing Street in London and subsequently in Morocco and New York City. There she met her future husband, Thomas Edward Bower, and they were married on 05 May 1973 to in her hometown of Datchet.
Her second career was with VISA in customer service and management, where she worked for 20 years until retirement.
She was a lifelong Roman Catholic and a long-time parishioner at Church of the Nativity, where she was also an active volunteer. She led Nativity's Grief Group and was a Eucharistic Minister, delighting many people with her weekend newsletter.
She is survived by son Mark Bower of Baltimore, Maryland and Bruce Bower and his wife Patricia of London, England; and grandchildren Maria, Thomas, Catalina, and Sophie. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 2015.
Funeral services will be on 19th of September at the Church of the Nativity, 20 East Ridgely Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 beginning at 12 PM.
