Obituary

Christine died the morning of March 6 of natural causes at her home in Baltimore. Born December 21, 1954 in Middlefield, Ohio to Leocadia and Nicholas Milanich, Christine was the youngest of four siblings. She attended college at Miami University, where she met Chuck Belser. Christine and Chuck were married happily for 45 years. Together they raised three children, and he lovingly cared for her until her last day.

Christine sought out and embraced life's challenges. In a successful career, she applied her talent for management, communication, and advocacy to improve our society through work at non-profit organizations. She succeeded in many roles, helping to make people safer and healthier, and to build community and support for people in need. Her career spanned many roles including positions at the American Cancer Society, Junior Achievement, Highway Safety Project, United Way, Swedish Covenant Hospital, Sarah's Inn (a domestic violence shelter), and the Immune Deficiency Foundation where she finished her career as a Senior Vice President.

Balancing careers and raising a family, Christine and Chuck lived in Ohio, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, and Chicago before coming to Baltimore in 2005.

Christine cherished family, friends, cats, travel, entertaining and entertainment, art, style, fashion, and a job well done. She kept a beautiful home, and made every effort to ensure guests were welcome and comfortable, and that a good time was had by all.

The many accomplishments of her three sons were a source of great pride for Christine. In recent years a highlight of her life was having fun with her grandchildren, whom she adored and spoiled. For the past several years, she fought cancer and beat all the odds to earn valuable time with family and friends.

Christine is survived by her husband Chuck, sons Alex, Evan (Megan) and Patrick, sisters Stefanie Barth and Kathleen Milanich, grandchildren Simon, Hannah and Maeve, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, colleagues, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Nicholas.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm ET on Saturday, March 12 on the 13th Floor of The Belvedere Hotel, One East Chase Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21202. In lieu of flowers, Christine requested that donations be sent to the Maryland Food Bank at https://mdfoodbank.org/donate/ .
