Obituary

On August 25, 2026, Dandridge William “Bill” Brooke passed away following a brief battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was 72 years old. 

Bill was born on March 15, 1954, and was a lifelong Maryland resident. He graduated from Loyola Blakefield before attending Loyola University Maryland (class of 1976). He earned his law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1982 and subsequently practiced law as a Civil Litigator and Defense Attorney. 

Outside of his professional life, Bill maintained several interests and affiliations. He enjoyed swimming, skiing, boating, vacations to Rehoboth Beach, DE, and visiting family in Germany. He was a proud Eagle Scout and a member of the Ancient and Honorable Mechanical Company of Baltimore, the German Society of Maryland, and the Society of the War of 1812, reflecting his longstanding interests in service, history, and civic tradition.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Claire Elizabeth Fluharty (née Brooke), and her husband, Charles; his grandsons, Jacob and Maxwell Fluharty; and his siblings, I. Lynette Dean (Kraig), Brian Brooke (Ann), and Randall Brooke. He will be remembered by his family, friends, colleagues, and the many people whose lives intersected with his.
