Darlene Winafred Purdy, born October 3, 1930, passed peacefully on April 24 with family by her side. Darlene loved her family fiercely and unconditionally and never missed an opportunity to show both family and friends how much she cared about them. She took joy in helping others and spent many years volunteering at nursing homes and senior centers.  Her beautiful presence in this world brought joy to those who knew her and experienced her kind and gentle spirit.

Darlene loved learning new things and earned her Computer Science degree from Mendocino College at the age of 67!  She delighted in a variety of activities and hobbies: reading, crafting, playing Bingo with her friends at the senior center and going to the theatre.  She also enjoyed going shopping with her daughters, watching sports with her husband, dining out, and spending time with her grand-pets.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Pasterchik, and her cherished daughters, Chris (Annemarie) Arellano, Wanda Wilder, and Candace Rishavy, as well as, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Darlene is also survived by loving family in Minnesota.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
