David Rennie Bulmer died on Wednesday July 26, 2023 at the age of 80. David was born in Wembley, England and studied medicine at Edinburgh University. He and the late painter Carolyn Bulmer (nee MacEwen) lived, worked, and played around the world including in Denver, Colorado; Kingston, Jamaica; Ottawa, Ontario; West Hartford, CT; Atlanta, GA; Sussex, England; Northampton, MA; and Francestown, NH. After Carolyn's death in 2015, David lived in Peterborough, NH and since 2019 in Baltimore, MD. Besides being the beloved husband of Carolyn Bulmer, he was father to Mark Bulmer of Baltimore, MD and Tamsyn Bulmer of Tarrytown, NY; grandfather to Zakir Bulmer (Beaufort, NC), Kush Bulmer (Chicago, IL), Gavina Gottlebe (Tarrytown, NY) and Callan Gottlebe (Tarrytown, NY); brother of Patricia Bulmer and Richard Bulmer (Albany, West Australia) and father-in-law to Sonia Shah (Baltimore, MD) and Torsten Gottlebe (Tarrytown, NY).

In lieu of a memorial service, we will be collectively remembering David and his peripatetic life on August 20, 2023, his and Carolyn's wedding anniversary. Friends and family can participate from anywhere in the world by enjoying an excellent meal and raising a glass to his memory.
