Debra “Debby” S. (nee McParland) Palmer, of Towson, Maryland, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 with her family by her side. She was 71 years old. Debby was the beloved wife of David Palmer for 36 years; devoted mother of Stephen Palmer; loving stepmother of Martha Hagenbuch and her husband JR; proud step grandmother of Cassidy, Dana and Joseph Hagenbuch; cherished sister-in-law of Michael Lipman and Dennis Palmer and his wife Karen; loving aunt of David and Jenny Lipman, Christopher Palmer, Jon Palmer, and Nina Hammerstad; dear great aunt of Lane and Hollis Lipman. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara McParland Lipman; and brother-in-law William Palmer. Debby is also survived by her very dear friend, Ann Randall of Silver Spring, Maryland.
Early in her life, Debby developed a love for bagpipes and excelled at playing the instrument true to her deep-rooted heritage. She previously worked as an underwriter at The Hartford Insurance Company and retired from the Selective Insurance Company. She graduated from Notre Dame Preparatory School and Towson State University with a Bachelor of History degree. She enjoyed may hobbies such as crocheting, cooking, baking, gardening and playing computer games. She has been a devoted pet parent and had many pets in her life, including her most recent fur baby, Molly. Debby was truly devoted to her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
Services and interment will be private.
