Obituary

Dennis G. Carter, Jr., 57, of Timonium, MD, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, following a battle with Legionella Pneumonia. He beat the odds after being diagnosed in 2015 with lung cancer and again in 2020 from being diagnosed with Kansasi Bacterium. Everyone that knew Dennis knew that he was a fighter. He grew tremendously in and always relied heavily on his faith, which he attributed much of his success in overcoming all of his battles.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Maryann, and children Cameron, Nicholas, and Emily.  He was born in Findlay, Ohio and moved to Timonium in his early years.  He graduated from Dulaney High School in 1985, then attended University of Maryland and Towson State.

Dennis is also survived by his mother Linda Carter, his late father, Denny Carter and his siblings, Deb Ellis and family, and Diedre Piff and family.

Dennis worked as a CFP and financial advisor for the majority of his career, most recently as Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager for PNC Bank. He loved coaching his kids in lacrosse and soccer teams, and passed on his competitive spirit, always challenging them to a game. He liked playing golf with his sons and had been taking them to the driving range since they were young boys. More recently he picked up yoga with his daughter Emily and organized family pickle ball every week. He loved playing cards and games with family and friends, including pickleball tournaments and games of Catan, which he took very seriously. Despite his competitive spirit and love of sports, he truly cherished bringing together all of his family and friends.

Please join the family for a Memorial Mass at The Church of Nativity, 20 E. Ridgely Road in Timonium on Saturday, April 13th at 10:30 AM. The family will also be having a time of gathering and receiving of guests from 9:30 AM -10:30 AM on Saturday before the funeral, also at Church of Nativity in the café.
