Diane Arlene
Compton
d. Apr 25, 2026
Diane Arlene Compton, lovingly known as “Super Grandma,” passed away on April 25, 2026, at the age of 80.
Diane spent the past year in Cockeysville, Maryland, living with her younger daughter, surrounded by the care and closeness of family. She is survived by her daughters, Metra Lynn and Jaleh Sue; her loving sons-in-law, Randy and David; her cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Jackson, Anna, Christian, and Sarah; and her adored great-grandchildren, Levi and Toby; and her two older sisters, Kathy and Donna. She also leaves behind her former husband of 20 years, Jack Moghadam, with whom she shared a lasting friendship. Diane will be deeply missed by her many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends and family whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Margaret Compton.
Diane was known for her strong work ethic and her generous, giving nature. She spent many years working at the University of Michigan, where she supervised and staffed parking for major school events. In doing so, she built lasting friendships—just as she did everywhere she went. Diane had a natural gift for connecting with others and made people feel welcome, valued, and heard.
Throughout her life, she gave her time freely, volunteering for school and community activities and supporting her daughters in every endeavor. She was a constant source of encouragement and pride.
Those who knew Diane will remember her as kind, friendly, accepting, forgiving, and completely nonjudgmental. She loved conversation and had a special way of making everyone feel like a friend. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—working on puzzles, cooking, shopping, and organizing just about anything that needed attention.
Diane also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. She shared a particularly special bond with Max, our beloved toy poodle, who held a lasting place in her heart.
A devoted member of Towson United Methodist Church, Diane found comfort and community in her faith and shared a close relationship with Pastor Stephanie and her church family.
Diane’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for others leave a lasting legacy that will continue to live on through all who knew her.
A Service of Remembrance will take place at Towson United Methodist Church, 501 Hampton Lane, Towson, Maryland 21286 on Saturday, June 13, 2026 beginning at 11:00 AM.
