In Loving Memory of Dolores Hendrick Kaisler
January 29, 1926 – November 7, 2025
Dolores Hendrick Kaisler passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at the remarkable age of 99. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Dolores lived a long and full life marked by curiosity, compassion, and an enduring love of learning.
She began her professional journey as a Registered Nurse after graduating from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Baltimore. Her passion for learning later inspired her to return to school, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Library Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. Dolores devoted many years to her career as a medical librarian at Mercy Hospital, where she eventually retired. A devout Catholic, she cherished attending the noon Mass in the chapel and often volunteered as a reader during services. Books were a lifelong joy for Dolores. She read widely and treasured her personal collection, carefully organizing each volume according to the Library of Congress system—a true librarian even at home.
Dolores's fascination with automobiles was another defining trait. As a child, she would crawl under cars beside her father, an instructor at Sweeney's Automobile School in Kansas City, who patiently explained how engines worked. That shared curiosity stayed with her for life, sparking countless lively discussions about the evolution of cars.
Dolores and her beloved husband, Emmanuel, built a life filled with adventure and love. Together they explored the world through international travel and spent peaceful summers camping at Assateague Island State Park.
She leaves behind a large and loving family—seven children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren—who will forever cherish her wisdom, humor, and grace. She was predeceased by her husband, Emmanuel, and their son, Francis.
