Donna Dix
Gebhardt
d. Jun 4, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Donna Marie Gebhardt (nee Dix), who passed away on June 4, 2024 at the age of 81.
Born on November 24, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland, she grew up in Highlandtown and later moved to Overlea, Maryland. She was a dedicated, loving and devoted mother to her children, Kimberly Ann Gebhardt and Donna Marie (nee Gebhardt) Hudson (husband, Ron), as well as the absolute best grandmother to Madeline Grace and Gabrielle Elizabeth Greul.
She lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents, including working for CSX Transportation for many years, prior to her early retirement. She had a passion for cooking and baking, and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of family gatherings. Family was everything to her. She also had a green thumb and loved tending to her garden, which was always in full bloom. She enjoyed traveling, swimming, aerobics, reading books, solving crossword puzzles and adored all animals.
Donna was a kind and generous soul, always putting others' needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and bubbly, warm personality.
She is survived by her siblings, Rosemary Dix Hesse, Francis Dix (wife Donna), David Dix, Marian Lemle (husband, Stuart), Ann Marie Dix and Lisa (nee Dix) Lakis, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews, whom she cherished.
A Memorial Service will be held at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland, 21093 on Monday, June 10 beginning at 11:00 AM. Charitable donations can be made to The Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), in her memory,
