Doras A. Rodney (née McCormick), age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, she leaves a lasting legacy in the generations who loved her.

Born on June 6, 1944—the historic day of D-Day—Doras was the daughter of Laura and Blaine McCormick. Fiercely independent and thoughtful, she lived life on her own terms and brought a strong, inquisitive spirit to everything she did. She took a keen interest in current events and remained engaged with the world around her, offering wisdom and perspective in life’s conversations.

Above all, Doras treasured her family. She is survived by her loving daughter, Sonja ;her brother, Maurice; her grandchildren, Erin and Ethan; and her great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Sunny, as well as multiple nieces and nephews. Her presence will be deeply missed at family gatherings and in the quiet moments of everyday life.

Doras will be remembered for her strength, curiosity, and steadfast love. Her memory will live on in her family and all who knew her, who will hold their time with her close with love and gratitude.
