Dr. Barry Mark Heatfield of Baltimore, Maryland passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2026. He was 87 years old. Dr. Heatfield was the beloved and cherished husband of Donna M. (nee Hallenbeck) Heatfield for 65 years; loving father of Andrea McGough and Mark G. Heatfield, and his wife Donna C. Heatfield; proud grandfather of Duncan McGough, Nina Miller, and Elise Mofield; dear great grandfather of Everett, Wells, and Mary-Clementine Miller.

Dr. Heatfield was an instrumental partner with the University of Maryland in the field of Cancer Research as a Research Pathologist. He retired from the Baltimore Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as an Administrator after many years. He loved boating, sailing, skiing, and any hobby while being on the water when enjoying his free time. He was the very best husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his beloved family, who loved him deeply, and will be missed by all who knew him.
