On Monday, July 5, 2021, Edna Genthe, loving grandmother, mother and wife passed away peacefully at age 86 after a long and full life.

Edna was born in 1934 in New York City. She graduated from Boonton High School in 1952 and worked as a hairdresser. In 1953, she married Frank Genthe, and they raised three children — Fran, Terri, and Eric — in Lake Hiawatha, NJ.  After her youngest was in high school, she returned to the workplace at UPS where she was an administrative assistant in Loss Prevention until her retirement after 14 years of service.

Edna was known for her quick wit, her willingness to help others, her amazing and numerous friends, and her outgoing nature.  She was a consummate volunteer and had a passion for crafts. She was active in local senior clubs, Red Hatters, many PTA boards, band boosters, and gave over 15 gallons of blood in her lifetime.  Many people are still using the products of her handiwork, including crocheted blankets, exquisite needlepoints, and embroidered pillowcases.   She made it a priority in her life to attend her children and grandchildren's numerous school events.

Edna was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Genthe, and her second husband, Bill DeGrosky. She is survived by her three children and eight grandchildren: Jake, John, Brenna, Tanner, Bennett, Calla, Joy, and Alia.  Her grandchildren will miss "the best chocolate chip cookies ever" and frank advice.
