Edward Dow
Pollard, Jr.
Dec 18, 1939 — Oct 5, 2021
Edward Dow Pollard, Jr., a lifelong resident of Towson, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at St. Joseph Medical Center. He was 81 years old. Edward was first of five children, born in Baltimore on December 18, 1939 to Edward Dow Pollard and Mary Catherine (nee Rice) Pollard.
Edward, who was called "Eddie" by all those who knew him, graduated from Towson High School. He spent over 25 years working for the state of Maryland as an information technology specialist.
Edward grew up in the Stoneleigh neighborhood in Towson and in the 1980s, he moved to Idlewylde, where he lived for the rest of his life. He was fiercely patriotic and enjoyed many hobbies, including swimming, listening to music – he was a Baltimore Symphony Orchestra season ticket holder for many years – and spending time with his extended family, often engaged in spirited debates.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers John, a Catholic priest in the Diocese of St. Augustine, Thomas M. Pollard and Richard R. Pollard. He is survived by his sister, Diane (Pollard) Williams (Michael), his sisters-in-law, Patricia (Hartley) Pollard and Dollie (Dailey) Pollard, his nieces Melissa Pollard and Emily (Williams) Harnish (Kevin), his nephews Brad Pollard (Ashling), Cooper Pollard (Kathryn), Adam Pollard, Tyler Williams and Tucker Williams, and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Edward will be remembered in a private celebration of life.
