Ernest Franklin
Edwards
d. Feb 21, 2024
Ernest Franklin Edwards, born March 19, 1945, passed away February 21, 2024, with family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Linda Edwards (née Fowler), cherished father of Kathy Salvato (Norman and children), Jennifer Tichy (Charles), Michael Edwards (Sylvia) and bonus father of Marc Fowler (Rochelle). He was the adored grandfather (also known as G-pa, G-pop, and Popop) of Austin DelNegro, Ethan Salvato, Dylan Tichy, Owen Tichy, and Betty Edwards. He was the beloved brother of Patricia Coronel (Rick) and cherished uncle of Kim Coronel, Melissa Meiser, and Suzie Coronel. He was preceded in death by wife, Carol Edwards, father, Ernest, and mother, Faith Olive.
Ernie worked as an upholsterer for Rifici Upholstering and Ibello Upholstery in Baltimore. His talent, along with his attention to detail was shown in every piece of furniture he placed his hands on but the work he is most proud of is on display as a part of The Kaufman Collection at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. His work has been seen in the Hampton Mansion, the television series House of Cards, and the Governor's mansion as well as many other locations. He cherished each and every moment he spent with his family and always gave encouragement to his children and grandchildren. His reminders of "Stay strong", "Keep fighting", "Be careful", "Watch your back", "Be a good person and keep helping people" and so many more will stay in our hearts forever. Ernie had a passion for classic cars. He enjoyed car shows in Carlisle, PA, and driving his El Camino, which kept him motivated in his toughest times. Ernie looked forward to attending the auctions held near his daughter's house every spring and fall. Ernie had a very giving, generous heart. His goal in life was to leave people with a smile on their face, whether it was with a joke or a gift. He wanted to leave people better than when he found them. He would not want us to cry and mourn his passing but to laugh, be there for each other, and always have more than enough food at family gatherings.
Ernie's family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 3pm-5pm with a Memorial Service being held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, beginning at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gilchrist Hospice https://gilchristcares.org/
