Frances Elizabeth Bayne 1928-2026

On October 20th, 2026, Frances Elizabeth Bayne (nee Abel) passed away at the age of 98. She was the devoted wife of the late Samuel Bernard Bayne Sr. for 58 years. She was the loving mother of her daughter, Deborah A. Manger and her husband Steven Manger, and her son, Samuel B. Bayne Jr. and his wife Lisa Bayne. Frances was the beloved grandmother of Matthew Manger and his husband Drew Dougherty, Jonathan Manger and his wife Ashley Manger, Lindsey Bayne and her fiancé Evan Devore, and Sara Bayne. She was the loving great grandmother to Jonathan’s children, JP, Brooks, and Allison Manger. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Jane Latta and her brother Wilbur (Bud) Abel. Survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Frances was a longtime resident of Lutherville. For the last 8 years, she resided at Maryland Masonic Home in Cockeysville. Her priorities were always her family. She also found great pleasure in decorating her home and taking interior decorating classes. She enjoyed entertaining. As the oldest daughter of her family, she was tasked with hosting most family holidays and special events. She took great pride in her Irish heritage and even traveled to Ireland to research her relatives.

Services for Frances will be private. A celebration of life luncheon is forthcoming.
