Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear Papa, Galileo "Leo" Bontuyan on November 10, 2025 at age 85. He departed this life peacefully surrounded by us, his loved ones -his beloved wife, children and grandchildren in Owings Mills, Maryland.

He was a great family man and man of God.

In early 2024, he was diagnosed with cancer that seemed to have already progressed. He bravely declined further tests nor treatment but instead chose to dedicate his remaining time living a normal life and fully leaned on God and trusted His will and plans for him. He spoke faithfully of God's mercy and grace and His power of healing to his doctors. Our family respected his wishes and decided to help make what would be the remaining 1 and a half years of his life as comfortable and pain-free as possible. His unwavering love for family, celebrating even the small successes of each and everyone of us and his strong Catholic faith will continue to be his legacy. Papa/Lolo Lee will always be our anchor and pillar of strength and source of inspiration. A devoted husband, beloved father, doting grandfather and cherished brother, uncle, cousin and friend, he was a very compassionate man, full of wisdom and who constantly guided our paths, always ready to help anyone in need, even from a distance. He sincerely loved every single one of those he knew from the bottom of his heart.

Rest in peace, father. You will be missed. We love you so much and until we meet again. Forever in our hearts
