Gary Lee Kraus of Parkville, MD passed away on December 16, 2023. He was 72 years old, and is survived by his fiancée, Cynthia Newcomb of Reading, PA and his sister, Lynn Kraus of Sacramento, CA. Gary was the devoted son of John "Bud" and Barbara Ann Kraus of Seminole, FL, both of whom passed before him.

Gary retired after over 42 years at Bethlehem Steel, Sparrows Point. He was a union shop steward and representative, and on safety committees. He often volunteered at the union food bank.

Gary had a lifelong passion of cars, especially muscle cars and vintage trucks. He proudly owned a few such classic vehicles over the years.

Following in his father's footsteps, Gary was a member of the North South Skirmish Association, a Civil War era shooting competition organization. Gary shot muskets and carbine on a number of teams over the last 35 years, and most recently was a member of 37th Georgia. Both Bud and Gary were well loved members, known to many association members over the last 60 years.

He will be dearly missed by his many, many friends who came to know his generous heart and kindness. Maybe most of all he will be missed by his much loved fur baby, Jaxson, his Yorkie.

The family thanks GBMC SICU staff for their professional and loving care given to Gary in his last days.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.
