Obituary

On Thursday, December 23, 2021 George Frank Marmaras of Lutherville, Maryland and formally Perry Hall, Maryland passed away.  He was 90 years old.  George was an entrepreneur and chef.  Founder of George's Cafeteria on the Dundalk and Locust Point Marine Terminals.  Also, former owner of the Double-T-Diners in Rosedale and Perry Hall, and Pepe's Drive-In in Roland Park.

He was the beloved husband of Peggy (nee Maistros) Marmaras, devoted father of Maria Giannakis and her husband Anastasios, loving grandfather of Panagiota Anagnostou and her husband Akis, Emmanuel Giannakis, Rebecca Giannakis, George Giannakis and his wife Tigest, great-grandfather of Carmella and Giovanni Giannakis, Konstantinos and Anastasios Anagnostou and Gabriel Giannakis.  Also survived by his sister Katerina Kontos, many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 30 th from 3pm to 8pm at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, MD 21093 with a Trisagion service beginning at 6pm.  Masks will be required while visiting the funeral home.  Mr. Marmaras will lie-in-repose at the Chapel of the Holy Resurrection in the Greek Orthodox Cemetery, 5917 Windsor Mill Road, Baltimore, MD 21207, on Friday, December 31 st from 10am to 10:30am.  The funeral service will immediately follow.
