On Wednesday August 5, 2026 George R. {Bob} O'Hara, Sr., beloved husband and father, was called home to forever rest in the loving arms of our Lord so that he would no more suffer.

His story began on the 15th day of October 1935, when he was born as the only child to George T. O'Hara, firefighter and awarded hero of the Baltimore City Fire Dept. and his beautiful wife Mary L. O'Hara {nee Bychich). He was affectionately called "Bobby" by his doting parents. As he grew he would ride his bike to hangout at the firehouse and help in anyway that he could. Known as a 'firehouse brat', he learned to have a quick sarcastic sense of humor, and play a mean game of cards. Early on, a lifelong passion of fire service was ignited in him.

As he grew into a young man, he served as an alter boy at St. Thomas Aquinas Church and then while attending Mount St. Joseph High School, he played on the soccer team. It was during these years that he met the one and only love of his life, Dolores "Bea" Graves whom he later married in May of 1957 and who currently survives him. They they went on to bring four children into the world, Bonnie O'Hara Lee, Brenda O'Hara Hughes, George R. (Bob) O'Hara Jr. and Barrie O'Hara Duvall all of whom survive him. His professional career began shortly after high school graduation when he went to work for C&P Telephone Co., later known as Verizon, as a cable splicer. He was very successful and moved into management and later retired after 37 years of dedicated service.

Over the years, he incorporated his sense of duty and community service into family life. He served for several years as Sargent of Arms in the Air Force National Guard Reserves and volunteered his time with the Box 414 Assn which served the Baltimore City Fire Dept as they fought multiple alarm fires. He finally settled into his second home at Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company as an EMT/IV tech where he went on to serve in many capacities over an astounding 52 years as a life member.

As a family man the love and commitment for his family exceeded all else. There was nothing that he would not do for them. He worked hard to give them everything from a good home to private school educations to wonderful family vacations. He developed a love of camping and loved nothing more then to sit around a roaring fire or play a hot game of poker, tell jokes and share wonderful stories. HOWEVER, his one most favorite place in this world was Walt Disney World. Always a child at heart, he loved all things Mickey, it was his Happy place.

He is survived by his beloved son-in-law Paul J Duvall, seven grand children, Kerry Lee, Scott Lee, Katie Lee Becker, Nicholas Lee, Kyle Duvall, Katelyn Simmons George and Ryan O'Hara. He is also survived by 9 cherished great-grandchildren, Aiden ,Tyler and Ava, Brandon and Braelynn (Rae), Jacob and Emily, as well as Stevie and Noah.

Over his ninety years this man has given nothing but love and service to each and every life he touched and he touched many! His legacy will live in the stories he told, the jokes he shared and the countless memories made.

This world forever changed on August 5th and will never be the same. Our hearts are shattered.

The family will receive friends at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Saturday August 22 from 1:00-2:00 PM where a Memorial Service will be held beginning at 2:00 PM.  Interment private.
