George Nasser Shirvani of Gaithersburg, Maryland, formerly of Tehran, Iran peacefully passed away while surrounded by friends on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. He was 87 years old, born on February 27, 1938 in Tehran to Fatemeh and Farajollah Shirvani. His family later relocated to Kashan where his father's work and ancestral home were based.  He also completed his education there and was an exceptional student.  Nasser made a courageous decision to immigrate to the United States in 1964 and pursue his college education.  He was motivated by his belief in freedom and a desire to build a better life.  He attended Harford Community College and graduated from Howard University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He was an avid volleyball player in his younger years and was a very talented portrait artist. George also had a gift for growing herbs in his backyard and incorporated them into his daily meals. He was a loyal friend and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Abbas Shirvani of Iran and a niece, Ariane Shirvani of Germany. He is predeceased by his brothers Mohammad and Kian Shirvani and sister Ghodsi Shirvani.

Services and interment will be private.
