After his death, she stayed in their home until 2023, then she moved in with her daughter Katherine, who lovingly cared for her until her passing.

Georgia loved tending to her family, her house and her gardens and was meticulous about her lawn and hedges. Georgia had a deep love of music and could recall the words of most songs and would sing along to music whether from the 1940's to today's contemporary tunes.
Always drawn to the ocean, she looked forward to any opportunity to go to the beaches of the Eastern shore, from Ocean City, Maryland to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Her and husband, Joe were especially fond of lighthouses and this was evident when you visited with them. From the lighthouse décor to the many history books that told the stories of the Atlantic Ocean lighthouses and their keepers.
Georgia loved the holidays but Christmas was her favorite. She took great care in decorating her Christmas tree each year with delicate glass ornaments from Germany and she would always work overtime, so she could generously shower her family with gifts each year.
