On February 27, 2026; Gertrude Stevenson, 89, of Aberdeen, Maryland, cherished wife of the late Donald E. Stevenson, devoted mother of Mitchell Stevenson, Gregory Stevenson and the late Richard Stevenson and Margit Stevenson, and grandmother and great-grandmother of many loving offspring, left this earth.

Trudy's journey began in her home country of Austria, which became consumed by World War II when she was only 2.  Little did she know then that by age 15, she would be married (to a US Army Soldier), and at 16 have her first child.  She and Don lived a military life, moving nearly a dozen times, with all the challenges that entails for her and her family.  She ended her nomadic life as a military spouse in 1975, when they bought their home in Aberdeen, over 50 years ago.  She was a loving Mother, always willing to do without so her family could have things, and a magnificent cook (famous for her Austrian pork roast and dumplings!), talented seamstress, and the rock so many of her children and grandchildren knew they could always count on.
