Grace Ann
Claypoole
d. May 14, 2022
Grace Ann (nee Russo) Claypoole passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Grace was born in Baltimore to the late Lillian G. (nee Dorrell) Brannan and Anthony J. Russo. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert D. Claypoole; devoted companion of John McLaughlin; cherished mother of Susan A. Collier and her husband Robert, John Michael McLaughlin, Jr. and his wife Deborah, Diane C. Bruns and her husband Michael, Sr., and Tricia L. Claypoole; adored MomMom of Raymond, Michael, Marc, Daniel, Michael, Jr., Mandi, Chelsey and Tony; loving great grandmom of 9; proud great great grandmom of 2; dear sister of Patricia Ward and her husband Don, the late Anthony "Buddy" Russo, Florence Ivey and Henry Russo.
Grace owned and operated Panda Bear Daycare for 45 years and was a dedicated and very much loved "MomMom" to all the children she took care of. She cherished every child for who they were and who they were going to grow up to be. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed birdwatching. She liked to visit Gettysburg and Lancaster, but her favorite vacations were trips to Ocean City just to sunbathe with her toes in the sand. She especially enjoyed visiting as many yard sales as she could and playing Bingo and board games (Chinese Checkers and Parcheesi) with her family. Her family and friends will remember her as being the life of the party. She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones and would make any stranger feel welcome in her home. She will be missed and loved forever by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Wednesday, May 18 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 19 beginning at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please remember Grace with memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
