Harry E. Dunkle of Fullerton, Maryland, resident at the Oakcrest Retirement Community peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was the devoted and beloved husband for 61 years of Anna (nee Arms) Dunkle; cherished father of Johanna Bathurst and her husband Jeffrey and Caroline Harvey and her husband Kevin; loving "Poppie" of Sophia and Isabelle; devoted brother of Erma Janet Mitchell, Doris Schnetzka, Joan Gams, Edgar Schanberger, Jr. and the late Mary Brown; adored brother in law of Brownie Arms and his wife Rosemary. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Harry was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 27, 1931 to Erma Beatrice (nee Crowther) and Harry Franklin Dunkle. He spent his 44 year career with BG&E as a Special Investigator and customer service agent. He was an avid golfer and spent his time at the Mt. Pleasant and Pine Ridge courses. Harry and Anna enjoyed traveling to Lone Pine, California, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Europe and Arizona which sparked a complete adoration of everything "southwest". He watched cowboy movies and visited many Western film festivals. He favorited the 1940 western film "The Durango Kid" starring Charles Starrett. Harry will be remembered as a most devoted father who would do anything for his girls including visiting Europe and short notice trips to Florida. He created deep friendships with those he would encounter. Harry will be missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Saturday, June 5 beginning at 11 AM.
