Herman Dietrick Maas, of Essex, Maryland, age 69, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, April 27, 2023.

Known as "Dickie" to friends and "Poppi" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a beloved husband and father; proud grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 3; cherished big brother of Russell and Ricky Maas.

Dickie loved to play the drums and make music unto the Lord. He was a Master Plumber by trade and had a deep love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and taxidermy. His favorite song was "The Little Drummer Boy" and as in the song he had nothing to give the Lord but his humble drum playing unto Him – he will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Christian Fellowship Church of God, 12909 Eastern Avenue, Middle River, Maryland 21220 on Father's Day, June 18 beginning at 1:30 PM. A time for fellowship and gathering of friends will follow at a location yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please remember Dickie with memorial contributions towards the memorial services.
