Loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Hyun Soo Kim, passed away on March 11, 2022 after a year-long battle with leukemia. Hyun Soo was 81 and was surrounded by all his children and grandchildren when he passed.

Hyun Soo Kim born to Jong Woo Kim and Soon Yi Hwang on February 14, 1941 in Sang Joo, Kyongsang Bukdo Province, Korea and graduated from Kyungpook National University with an undergraduate degree in Agriculture.  Hyun Soo immigrated to the United States in 1984 with his family. Ordained Deacon and Treasurer at the Korean Presbyterian Church of Baltimore, Hyun Soo was a devout Christian. Hyun Soo and his wife retired as small business owners in 2001. Hyun Soo has always had numerous passions and hobbies, including plants and flowers, carpentry, and photography. To fulfill his passion for carpentry after retirement, Hyun Soo began a part-time career as a contractor to help his congregation with various household projects.

Hyun Soo joins his brother Bong Soo Kim in Heaven. Hyun Soo is survived by many loving family members, including his wife, Myong Yun, and children, Jin Joo, Yoon Sik and his wife Melanie, Jimmy and his wife Alyssia, and Irvine, CA City Councilmember, Tammy Kim and grandchildren, Christian, Maddie, Claire, and Alina. Hyun Soo is also survived by his brother and sisters, Ui Soo, Ja Woo, Sang Woo, Chun Woo, Mahn Woo, and Sam Yi.

A Memorial Service for Hyun Soo Kim will be held at the Korean Presbyterian Church of Baltimore, 600 West Seminary Avenue, Lutherville, Maryland 21093 on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 7:30 PM. A Funeral Service for family and friends will be held at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM followed by burial at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
