Ira N. Brown of Timonium, Maryland died on Monday, August 23rd, 2021 after a brief battle with lung cancer. Ira was a loving husband to Cynthia Brown, father to Erin Kelly, father-in-law to Brett Kelly, grandfather to Elliott Kelly and Milo Kelly, step-father to Lisa Stacey and Laura Thurfield, brother to Harry Brown, Debbie Weinberg, Maxine Dickstein, and Marsha Brown Otto.

He grew up with a love for playing and watching sports. After graduation, he worked for his father doing home improvements and ended up owning a fire restoration company. His business allowed him to spend his days driving around and talking to strangers, one of his favorite pastimes. He raised his daughter and step-daughters with a lot of dark humor, a healthy mistrust of authority, and a spirit of generosity and kindness unrivaled by most. Ira retired from Building Contractors of Maryland in 2014, and he spent his retirement happily traveling, going out to dinner, watching Law & Order, and snoozing on the couch.

A Celebration of his life is being planned for a future date. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please remember Ira with memorial contributions to the Volo City Foundation .
