Obituary

Jacqueline Pisciotta Leone-Motsay, born in Palermo, Italy, and aged 94, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2023, in Towson, Maryland.

She is survived by her sons, Jack and Jeffrey Leone; her grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, and Arielle; and two great-grandchildren, Christian and Elyse. Her surviving siblings are Gianna Pisciotta, Salvatore Pisciotta, and Maria Ferrara. She was predeceased by her husbands, Dominic Leone and Richard Motsay, and her siblings, Antonio Pisciotta, Anna Di Bella, and Fifi Martorana.

Jackie, as she was fondly known, immigrated to the U.S. in 1949, establishing herself as a successful entrepreneur. She started as a cosmetologist with two beauty shops before owning a transportation company in Baltimore County. Her business acumen was recognized with awards like 'Minority Woman Business Owner of the Year' and 'Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year.'

Deeply involved in the Italian-American community, she held leadership roles with the Cosmopolitan Lodge, Order of Sons of Italy, and Cooley's Anemia Foundation. Her community contributions earned her recognitions from the Governor of Maryland and the State Senate.

Jackie's passions included gardening and beach visits. Her life was guided by the belief that 'family is everything,' a sentiment she cherished deeply.

Private services will be held at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Friday, December 22, 2023. A private entombment service will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. For more detailed service information, please contact the funeral home or the family directly.
