On Monday, May 19, 2025 Dr. James Lynch of Lutherville, Maryland died from complications from a fall. He was 87 and is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Eileen.

He was a proud alum of Boston College, class of 1960. He was an accomplished author, professor and clinical psychologist. He published several books including The Broken Heart: The Medical Consequences of Loneliness. He enjoyed nature, gardening, history, traveling and sports. He enjoyed classical music and playing the piano, especially for his six grandchildren: Joseph, Ryan, Molly, Catherine, Shannon and Cara. He is survived by his sons Jim and Joe and Joe's wife Camille, daughter Kathleen and her husband Dr. Francis Craig. Dr. Lynch lived as a devout Catholic and was the 7th of 12 siblings. He is survived by his sister Louise as well as many nieces and nephews.
