Janice Brewer
Spigler
d. Apr 15, 2026
On April 15, 2026; Janice Brewer Spigler, age 92, died peacefully at Glen Meadows Assisted Living. Jan was born on September 27, 1933 in Hagerstown, Maryland to LeRoy (Mike) and Odessa (Green) Brewer. She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1951 and earned her BA from The University of Maryland College Park in 1955. Jan became a CPA in May 1986. A member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, she was an active alumnus for the chapter of Delta Gamma for many years.
Jan was married to Frederick H. Spigler, Jr. for 54 years before his passing in 2009. They moved to Lutherville in 1965 where she continued to live until she moved to Glen Meadows in 2019. Jan became a member of Havenwood Presbyterian Church in 1967, where she served as Treasurer, Elder and a Trustee as well as a Sunday School Teacher. Jan enjoyed gardening, completing crossword and jigsaw puzzles and loved to watch the Jeopardy gameshow. She was a lifelong Orioles and University of Maryland Terps fan. Jan and Fred travelled extensively and visited England, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Germany, Greece, the Panama Canal and the Caribbean. They also visited most-if not all-50 states in the U.S. Along with extensive travel, Jan also enjoyed cooking and entertaining during nearly every holiday—cookouts for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day, Easter and Thanksgiving dinners and family birthday dinners. But by far, her favorite time of year was Christmas Eve and Christmas.
Jan is survived by her daughter, Barbara Spigler Fulton; son, Mike and wife Donna; grandchildren, Anne Fulton, Erik Fulton, Chelsey Spigler, Felicia Lessard and family; great-grandchildren, CJ Fulton-Hansen and Summer Fulton; along with many nieces, nephews and all of their families.
