Jean Marie Reott, 82, of Lutherville, passed away at home on August 5, 2023.
She was born to the late Howard and Mary Edrington, on April 23, 1941, in Towson, Maryland. Jean graduated from Towson High School in 1959. She worked in various administrative support roles at the Social Security Administration and later for Baltimore County Public Schools where she retired from in July 2001.
Jean married the late Clayton H. Reott Jr. on September 22, 1962, and they lived in Parkton for over 20 years and later relocated to Lutherville. Jean is survived by her two sons, Steven Reott of Lutherville; and Kenneth (wife, Mary Ann) Reott, of Freeland; and her sister, Nancy Killian of Middle River. She is also survived by her two grandsons, whom she spoiled often, Benjamin and William. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband, Clayton, affectionately known as "Bud", in 2014. Jean and Bud enjoyed 52 years of marriage and Jean lost a bit of her sparkle when she lost her sweet Bud. He was her everything.
For those who knew Jean, or Gigi as she was affectionately known to her grandsons, she always had a twinkle in her eye and an easy smile. A Baltimorean at heart, her favorite pastimes were spending leisurely days in Ocean City, attending the Towson Fourth of July Parade, enjoying steamed crabs, and tending to her gardens. Her love of flowers led her to pursue her Master Gardener certification in Baltimore County. Jean also enjoyed celebrating the holidays and was always the first to rise on Christmas morning to ensure the grand festivities were well underway.
Jean also enjoyed watching the Baltimore Ravens and was an avid lifelong fan of the Orioles. We know she now has a front row seat to see her beloved Birds finish the season strong. The O's will have an angel in the outfield for life.
Jean's burial will be for immediate family. For those wishing to donate in her memory, please consider the American Heart Association or the Maryland Master Gardener Program.
