Jeffrey Carleton
Mellecker
d. Mar 18, 2025
Just days after his 70th birthday, Jeffrey "Jeff" Carleton Mellecker passed away on March 18, 2025, in Towson, Maryland. Jeff is survived by his wife, Kristen Mellecker, his daughters Courtney and Samantha Mellecker; his parents John and Janice Mellecker; his brother, Scott Mellecker and his wife Kati and their children, Scotty Mellecker and Jaime Greenland (Marshall), and their children, Lily and Lucy; his sister, Robin Mellecker and her husband Sean Hackett and their children, Dylan and Liam Hackett; his brother Dana Mellecker and his wife Sarah Howell; and his aunt, Beverly Peake.
Jeff was born in Norwood, Massachusetts on March 11, 1955, to John and Janice Mellecker. He was raised in Springfield and Holden, Massachusetts and shared fond memories of his childhood with his three siblings, Scott, Robin, and Dana. He attended Wachusett Regional High School and received his associate's degree in business from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. His work in investments eventually took him to Baltimore, Maryland.
From a young age, Jeff enjoyed spending his summers at Bustins Island, Maine where he fostered lifelong friendships and met his wife of 36 years, Kristen. Bustins allowed him the space to share his love for fishing, boating, and celebrating with his daughters, or as he liked to say, "girls," Courtney and Samantha. He was immensely proud of the women in his life.
In retirement, Jeff wanted to stay busy and started working at Pine Ridge Golf Course. He was thrilled to start as a golf ball picker, and have his friends try to hit him with balls as he drove by. This retirement venture quickly became a new life for Jeff, sparking joy and passion in a chapter he had once closed. It allowed him to make new friends and nurture old. He particularly enjoyed his Maine golf outings with his best buds and his weekly tee times with his Maryland friends. He proudly made sure he was able to golf on his 70th birthday.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love for golf and island time, and his love for his family. Jeff was always looking out for his "girls" and sending them messages that made him smile.
A celebration of life for Jeff will be held at Peaceful Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Center, 2325 York Road, Timonium, MD 21093, on Saturday, April 12th with visiting hours from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with a memorial service beginning at 12:00 pm.
There will be an additional private celebration of life held by the family in Massachusetts.
